What a Wonderful Week!

The first week of school is behind us. The children in room 108 are well on their way! This week we met new friends and reacquainted ourselves with PreK friends. We read and discussed Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and made our very own "chicka trees" (aka. coconut trees). We also chatted about bus safety and made our own buses. Humpty Dumpty rounded out the week. We really enjoyed singing this traditional nursery rhyme. And Caroline brought in a beautiful rainbow cupcake cake to celebrate her 5th birthday!

Much of our time together also included learning new classroom and school routines (ex. "How to Use a Glue Stick", "What to Do Upon Arrival in the Morning", and "Everything I Need to Know to be Successful in the Cafeteria"). It was obvious to me (and the children) as the week went by, we were all feeling much more comfortable and confident about this new kindergarten adventure. Next week we will learn how to put up and take down our own chairs...safely ;o) !!

It was wonderful meeting many of you at our annual Meet the Teacher night on Thursday. The children were very excited to share their classroom with you. I know some of you were busy that night as well. That's okay. I understand. Please feel free to contact me to set up a time to come in and see the classroom with your child if you wish. Before or after school times work best.

Below I have included some pictures from the past few days as well as a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom song video I shared with the children.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
